Release Day for Crashing the Congressman's Wedding by Elley Arden

Crashing the Congressman's Wedding By Elley Arden release

Alice jumped a wave, and Justin was assaulted by a flash of creamy skin and black lace. She was swimming in her underwear. Catching sight of a pile of clothes out of water’s reach, Justin shook his head. Apparently, she had ditched her dress. Why was he not surprised?

“What are you doing?” he called above the surf.

She flashed him a smile he hadn’t seen in years. “I’ve never been to the ocean.”

His untucked shirt tails whipped in the wind, and with the strength of his hands he fought the chaos. “I guess that explains it.”

She stayed smiling, considering him with the same hypnotic eyes he knew as a child. Back then, he wondered what she saw when she looked at him. Now, he was afraid to know the answer.

“I’m going to get the bags and the dog out of the car, and then I’ll bring you a towel. Be careful. No further. You hear? In fact, stay closer to the beach. The undertow is strong, and I’d like to avoid another rescue.”

A few steps up the beach and her wail hit his back. “I don’t need to be rescued.”

But she did. Somebody had to keep her from making rash decisions, like stopping weddings and swimming in the ocean half-dressed. He slowed his pace and closed his eyes. That someone couldn’t—shouldn’t—be him. On an inhale, he opened his eyes and returned to the surf. “Fine. No more rescues.”

“Good, because I’m not a baby. I can take care of myself. Stop telling me what to do. Stop treating me like you’re my father or my brother. You’re not. You’re just a guy. I’m just a girl. And you make life too complicated.” She raised her arms to her side and fell backwards into the sea.

Justin’s heartbeat quickened as he searched the choppy water, waiting for her to surface. Her father died an alcoholic and her brother looked destined to follow. Not being lumped in their category was a good thing, but where did that leave him?

Relief flooded him when her head broke the surface. She pushed soggy curls from her face, and raising her arms over head, spun until a wave knocked her off her feet. She was definitely not a baby. But if he was just a guy and she was just a girl, then bringing her with him was an even bigger risk. He had obligations, expectations and an image to uphold. In trying to avoid a scene at the church, he’d put himself in one hell of a compromising situation.

Author Bio:

Elley Arden is a born and bred Pennsylvanian who has lived as far west as Utah and as far north as Wisconsin. She drinks wine like it’s water (a slight exaggeration), prefers a night at the ballpark to a night on the town, and believes almond English toffee is the key to happiness.

Elley has been reading romance novels since she was a sixteen-year-old babysitter, sneaking Judith McNaught and Danielle Steele novels off the bookshelves of the women who employed her. She started her first manuscript when she was twenty-five, writing during babies’ naps. A total of three children and ten years later, she thought the manuscript was complete. Little did she know, her journey to publication was only beginning…

Elley writes provocative, emotional contemporary romances for Crimson Romance.

She has spent years with prescription medication guiding her moods and emotions only to suddenly decide to allow the world to creep back in. With that she ventures out and finds danger at the hands of what may be her only redemption. This one act sets the chess game in motion as a new man enters their lives and Bethany finds it very hard to resist him. Threatened and fearing rejection, Ryan

Unlocked by Kevin Solomon Missal

Kevin Missal has proven that it doesn't matter what age you are to be an author. At the young age of 16, he has published his first book, Unlocked. Please join us as we share links and find out a few things about this young man.

Blurb

In the midst of chaos and order, stands the long drawn war between angels and demons. An unknown tyrant, Manfred Croft, walks the very earth to bring the world to an end. A hero, Caspar Socrates with a bleak past is the planet’s last hope. He is a hunter, a watchful guardian. He understands evil because …

Will he ever be able to unlock himself ?

Will he be able to prevent the rise of the Morningstar?

So let's have a little fun and find out some of your secrets. Shall we?
Jacquie: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Kevin: I always wanted to be an actor. But when I got in the habit of writing, I knew I had to be a screenplay artist or a writer.
Jacquie: How did you feel when you got your first 5 star review?
Kevin: It’s wonderful. I can’t express my joy. Though I dedicate this 5 star to all those people who said that my book will never be critically liked. Well, here it is to you guys.
Jacquie: What books have most influenced your life?
Kevin: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and the Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.
Jacquie: Who is your favorite hero/heroine/character from your own books? What about of all time?
Kevin: Caspar Socrates might be my favorite hero and even his sidekick Balthazar. They have a rocky relationship, insulting each other but at the same time caring for each other.
Jacquie: Most of my favorite authors are indie or self-pubbed, what made you decide to go that route?
Kevin: I think because this route is warm and caring. It is filled with people that love books than anything in this world. And there are really helpful people, so I thought to go this route.
Jacquie: What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
Kevin: I think it was the hardwork and dedication you have to put to write a book. When I was like eleven years old, I thought writing books is easy and can be done in a snap of a second. But no. It’s not. The process is enjoyable but at the time, you have to really give your best.

Jacquie: Any song or songs that could basically sum up the overall mood of your book?
Kevin: Doctor who, “I am the doctor”
Jacquie: What are your current projects? Can you share a little of your current work with us?
Kevin: Absolutely. My current project is based on Hindu Mythology. I want to produce India’s first superhero novel.

Author Bio

Hi Jacquie, thank you for inviting me to the blog today.

Here’s a little about me for your readers.

I live in rural England, United Kingdom and I work in an antiques shop as well as writing. I have two dogs that keep me fit with their need for walks. Love the countryside and the coast.

I write romance, contemporary, and erotic with a twist of mystery, suspense, or the paranormal, now and then. I like to make the story unusual in some way, by a quirk in the tale.

I started writing when I was seventeen. Life intervened in my writing time and I stopped serious writing for some time. I started writing again seriously a couple of years ago, because I had so many stories in my head.
